Hello again I have another question for you do you think that gelatin could help my horse? The one I told you, to grow his hooves a few andadura horse owners had told me that it gives good results, he’s not for andadura. The farrier told me that is not laminitis, he make a beautiful work each time he’s shoeing him but then by the next week they’re dented again.

I’m really unfamiliar with the gelatin that you tell me, if it’s Jello, I understand that is the one they use…
I’ll tell you that I prefer and recommend using Biotin which is specifically design for hoof growing among other attributes. Independently of the discipline you use your horse for, whether, if is for pleasure riding, andadura, jumping, etc.

The hooves are all of the same material, ones are stronger or harder than others for the amount of melanin, but the same material. The melanin is a natural substance that gives color (pigmentation) to the hair, the skin, the iris of the eyes, and also helps to protect the skin from the sun. The darker the hooves the stronger they are. If is not laminitis, well I think is a good news.

Now then, what I understand by “mellados” (dented) is that the hoof is peel at the border or edge, if that is the case, it’s has to be by the way he’s been shoed, If he is shoed, because that is what happens when the horse is unshoed.   So, to be sure and not to be foretelling, the best thing to do is if you can post some pictures of your horse hooves to check what is exactly what you mean and then determine a possible solution. If you have any problem uploading photos let me know that we can gladly help you.
