Will like to hear your comments
BigJ
I didn't expect spots!
Also, is there video? I'd like to see it moving.
That's my ONE question for now!
caliber
jejeje let me see what I can get on him and on them in reference to videos!
Spots! oh! that is the beauty of Mancha! by the way! the word
"Mancha" in Spanish means Spots! jejejeje
I know of a very prestige Spot Mule breeder that also happens to be a very well respected judge in Colombia!
BigJ
Thanks!
Next question, what type of jacks are used for breeding? --Are they gaited, have a minimum size? etc.
caliber
I will get as much information possible since I personally think will be good to know for any future reference!
I am really not very familiar with those lines! but I do know, the breeder came to the States and purchased a great number of them!
The Mullar have standards they should meet like all other Paso classes in Colombia!
Let me find their rule book!
PS. By the way the breeder I am referring to is not the owner of MANCHA!

Thanks! I love mules! I like to see some gaited mules. Ironically you'd think living in one of the mule capitals (Tennessee) I would have seen one but I haven't. I've seen beautiful mules and jacks though. TN is famous for "show mules" which are usually crosses with Belgian mares to get mules for pulling wagons. There were also riding types and types for pulling contests, but the main attraction were the Belgian crosses. TN even boasts of a famous mule artist and my home town hosted one of the largest mule events in the country--Mule Day.
I'd love to breed my roan mare and get a roan mule if that can be done, but I don't know enough about the color genetics between a jack and mare to know if it is possible. It'd be cool to get a couple of gaited mules.
Allot of Southern Plantations had a team of mules to pull wagons during field trial hunts and for paying guests when they hunted quail.

How cool! I love mules. Can't wait to see more. Mancha is beautiful.

In Colombia you can find great Mulares of the Paso Fino Modality!
Manchas If I not mistaken took Best in 2007. I think 2008 was Sincelejos or Serenata! I cant remember right now which of the two.
But from the top of my head, I know Colombia in the mule catagory has TATUAJE, MANCHAS, SERENATA, SINCELEJO and TARJETA de FLOR. Those have been mulares that I personally really like.....
Ok! Now I need some help translating terms here!
In Spanish
Caballo (stallion) x Burra = MULAR MACHO ROMO
Burro x Yegua (mare) = MULAR BUDERGANO
Burro x Burro = ASNAL
OK! i checked the Fedequinas rules! and mules compete all ages in one class!
Burros/Anales have sex classes and age classes!
Candice! is all depend what your looking for! If you are looking for a working Mule! they are usually fairly tall. Now, is you are looking to breed a MUle de Silla, then will need to be Briosa, happy hears, and a very smooth gait, not so tall!
I have seen wonderful mares and stallion bred to burras! and something like this has been the outcome! nice nice nice, I m sure that baby will have all the characteristics needed to show and be of smooth gait, another words he was bred to be a nice pleasure and smooth for riding purposes.

I have a video of Mancha in my facebook! check it out! Kerry, can you copy the video for me please?

Here another beauty!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to have both. My dream is a matching pair of pack mules. Hope to go hunting horse back one day. Maybe a mule for riding/packing combined.
I hate to admit it, but I like roan so roan no spots if possible. It would be cool to have a roan mare and a couple of roan mules from the same line as my hunting mounts.
donkey x mare = mule
stallion x donkey = hinny
donkey x donkey = donkey.
Male donkey = jack
Female donkey = jenny
Sometime a female mule is called a "molly" but that is a rare term.
