I think one thing people don't realize is that when we host La Mundial, it generates quite a bit of revenue for our association. It's not "just" for show people...that money helps PFHA, and all the members.

We must work together.... And i mean together to always reach a medium! Their is a good and a bad side to everything!
But you are right Kerry! I think the PFHA net a very good chunk of MONEY! that helped our organization a great deal in 2008.
So..........lets think how we can benefit and improve wisely the future of our breed in this country! for everyone to benefit..... and I mean everyone...... as should be. Lets work together with any organization that we all can benefit.........

PFHA did do well last year on the Mundial because people stepped in and changed some things that would have caused us to loose money. However, the 1999 Mundial lost from what I understand quite a bit of money.

I wonder who was directing the show in 1999??????????????????
and i will say NO MORE...............................
But! Yes! We made GOOD MONEY IN NOV 2007.......
By the way Cindy, is always a pleasure seeing you here.....
Abrazos!

Well, to go from losing money, to making money....I'd call that progress.

And it could have been MORE money! BUT......................
The US Government wasn't issuing visas ..... since the 911 incident....
USDA did not allowed POSTIVE horses................
SO,.............................. it was a total success............ considering all the BUTS.....not excluding all the NON-SUPPORT by many members of the PFHA.......

Very Important!
Youth Mundial! How much money we made there! in 2006!!!!!!!!!! considering the arena costs an arm and a leg!

I am all for working together. This IS about the Paso Breed, a PROUD breed of special horses of different modalities. I believe all of us, regardless of which modality we prefer, should work together to respect, and preserve, and protect this wonderful breed of horses! Let's all stop being so defensive and arrogant about what's good or better or best. We each have our preferred modality(ies), but don't bash whichever isn't yours, after all, THEY ARE ALL PASOS! The more the merrier. JMHO

Way to go Marleen
I have been away from the forum for several days will have to catch up. Not sure what caused this voting to take place...
Oh guess what Flex - I sold my Trote y Galope mare Pandora!!! I am so happy, she is going to a farm that already owns 2 Trote colts and they plan on breeding her and using her as a ambassador for the breed. They also have Paso Finos, but have also have a big passion for the Trote horses. (They are tall, and the man is a big guy, he was a substantial horse under him, but he still wants a smooth ride).

Hey Lori,
I was introduced to Paso Finos in 1983. Did not even know they existed! I knew then, that some day, I would have one. Now, I have 4. Love them all. In 2007, I was fortunate enough to attend La Mundial, and was introduced to 'the other pasos', I did not know much about. I can't wait to get a T&G one day, they are awesome! I would like to be able to get a nice ambassador one day soon, so I can educate people here about them. I would like to see them exhibited at the Asheville Show this year. I think they would draw a crowd!
As far as Pandora goes, well, I'm glad you sold her, and she has a good home... I just fell in love with when I saw her pics, wish she was in my barn, that's all .
Just kidding . Maybe soon, I can check out her babies!!
I am looking at the Paso Horse, as a whole, aunts and uncles and cousins etc., we may not do things the same way, but we are family, right?
I don't think it matters if a person prefers PPR, Combians Criollos, T&G,etc. They are ALL PASO HORSES!!! I support all modalities, and i am not affraid to say so!!! I am PROUD of my breed!

They did a demo with a Trote y Galope stallion at Asheville several yearss ago...that's where I first saw one, and went bonkers for them!
Lori, I thought we'd do a poll, to determine if members of our forum thought PFHA should be part of CONFEPASO. I hear yes and no from people, so wanted to see it in black and white.

It's NE of Sumter, Marleen...you'd have to go down and get I-20 E and exit before Florence...after Camden. It might give you a nosebleed being at such a low altitude though.
