New ppr colt born today!

Just wanted to let everyone know we got our ppr colt today from Cale's Helado Oro x Tostada de Hidalgo. He is a beauty and not sure if Palomino or cremello but he has Ice blue eyes, a snow white mane and tail a big blaze and one (I think) rear hind sock.

Tostada is on lease from Janet Ashbaug of Live Oak FL....she is 25 years old but still a very nice Fino fino mare. Baby is small and compact and should be very well gaited and hopefully have some of momma;s brio! She has produced some very nice well gaited offspring that were at least performance gaited.

Anyway here are a couple pics of the newborn...more pictures to come when we get outside to play!

I sort of have a name for him...Helado Segundo IHR.....I was thinking "Ice Man" becasue of his eyes and when I looked up the translation Ice was Helado.....which is also daddy's name. So it sort of fell into place.....

Thanks all! Yep he is pretty special....so pretty! He is a creamy color with Ice blue eyes....never had one like this before!

He is very well gaited already and is wearing poor Tostada out! They were out a large portion of the day. He has gotten the hang of those long legs and poor momma is so worried over him and I don;t think she has laid down since he was born! He did get worn out from all that gaiting all over and passed out in the grass. He is so precious.....

Got some decent pictures of him and momma...she doesn;t like me taking photos of him at all! She does allow him to come to me so I can scratch him but he listens to her very well. I am the only one that is allowed to touch him without her getting upset. What a great momma she is!  Very Happy

Here are the pictures of them from yesterday.....

Nice Boy! With those long legs, Momma has to be exhausted! Laughing . He is going to be something! Keep the pics coming, can't wait to see color changes, if any, both eyes and coat!

Congratulations!!!!

Well this boy has really grown! I did get his color test back and he is cremello(he has 2 creme genes one from each parent) which means he can only produce  palomino, buckskin and cremello and I think smokey creme.

Here's a couple new pictures of Rayo Blanco (white Lightening). I decided this name since he will be white with blue eyes and he can really move!

He is 5 weeks old here

Thanks for the color update...and also the great photos.  Seems he's quite regal and photogenic, in addition to his other qualities!  What a nice result from this breeding.  Congratulations!!

Congratulations PPRPaso!!! He is adorable, and  great proof of what preservation of the breed means.  May I suggest to hold the name for a few more days? If you want to name it by his color that is. This little beauty would be reached in color like his sire.  Very Happy

He won't officially be named until he is registered and that won't be for a couple months yet.

His eyes will stay blue. Cremello has 2 creme genes where the palomino ( like Frosty) only have one creme gene. He will be a creamy color with white mane and tail or more white body color. Right now he is "creamy" but he may change after he sheds his foal coat at 3 months. Cremellos have a "true blue " eye.

Of course he has other wonderful things to offer besides color! He is sweet like his daddy, very well gaited like both parents and has Brio like his dam. She is loaded with BRIO. He should be good size from those legs of his. This colt has some really nice ppr lines. Kofresi and Batalla from his dam, Frio Viento, Bolero LaCE and Batalla from his sire. Both sire and dam have Batalla 3 times in the 3rd and 4th generation.

Any suggestions on a name for this colt?
