Believe it or not!

Greetings. Do you know much of engineering?   Are you sure?  I am going to teach you engineering so you could learn. The width of the railroads (distance between 2 rails) of the United States and the one of Puerto Rico it is of 4 feet and 8.5 inches.

Why was that measurement used?   Because this was the measurement of the English railroads and, as the American railroads were constructed by the English, this measurement was used by a compatibility reason. Why the English used this measurement?

Because the English companies that constructed the wagons were the same ones that constructed the carriage before the train existed and used such elements that used to make the carriage dragged by horses.
Why the floats had that measurement (4 feet and 8.5 inches)?

Because the distance between the wheels of the carriage would have to be that they could fit in the old streets of Europe, which had that measurement exactly.   Why did  the small streets had that measurement?

Because these streets were opened by the Roman Empire, during their conquest, whose measures   were based on the old Roman carts.    Why the Roman carts had that measurement?   Because they were made to accommodate the buttock of 2 horses.

Finally - and this is the point  I want to arrive – the U.S. space “Shuttle” uses 2 fuel tanks (SRB by “Solid Rocket Booster”) made by Thiokol, in the state of Utah.   The engineers who made it preferred to have it made bigger, but they had limitations by the tunnels of the trains in which they would be transported, since these had their measures based on rails of the train.

And it is for this simple reason that the space shuttles have traveled short of fuel and by the same reason it has failed the cooling systems which work with fuel.

CONCLUSION:  And this is the conclusion that I much looked for!   The example of the most advanced world-wide engineering in design and technology is adapted to the size of the buttocks of Roman horses!   BELIEVE IT OR NOT!

Well!  if the Romans will like to take credit for their engineering.......... is ok!   Rolling Eyes

But where did they get their ideas from?  I was always the impression the
Etruscans.........  where the geniuses.. Wink  (I might be wrong)

I think is just a theory, still I like the idea of horses buttock having something to do with the railroads gauge.
