The Piedmont Classic "Asheville" Show is June 26th - 29th Officers & Chairs

The 2008 Piedmont Classic is approaching very quickly. From all indications we are going to have a very successful show. Stall requests are coming in. Farm sponsorships are being spoken for. Vendors are signing up and the excitement is building. Our theme this year is “Come Feel the Beat” and our logo horse has electric color and presence which is a true representation of our beautiful Paso Finos that will be in the ring. Jeanne Griggs and her committee have been hard at work and promise to have another beautiful center ring for us. Ann Furr has been working hard on getting our sponsors for each class, as well as working with our youth in preparation for an exciting Flag demonstration on Saturday night. Robbie Davis and Ali Casey are working with our Farm Sponsors and Stallion Exhibition participants. Jim Sefert is trying to line up another live remote at the show this year.

The show has been reduced to four full days and with the addition of the palm pilots for the judges we should conclude each evening between 9 - 10 pm. We have scheduled an exhibitors party for Thursday night complete with some entertainment. Our show secretary and office personnel from Four Winds West have some new technology to bring to the show. They have a monitor and computer that will be set up outside of the show office that will contain all the classes, entrees, etc. for you to have the most up to date information right at your fingertips. The show office personnel will each have a computer and they will all be tied together so there should not be any long lines. Galopando TV will be filming the show for videos and also a live Broadcast via their web site.

Our announcers this year are our own Paulette DeNault and Bernie Santana from Florida. Both are dynamic speakers full of enthusiasm and vigor. Both are fluent in Spanish and English. Mark your calendar, make those motel reservations and plan to come to the Mountains and the spectacular Piedmont Classic! A new feature for our show this year, our entry form is on the PFHA web site. Complete your entries online, PFHA will verify all your membership and horse information, forward the entry on to the show secretary and you can even pay thru pay pal.

The Asheville Prize List and Class Schedule is posted on the Piedmont and PFHA web site. On the PFHA web site you may electronically complete your class entries and they will then forward the form to our Show Sectretary. Payment and copies of the appropriate forms will have to be mailed under separate cover.

Don’t forget to put the Asheville Show on your calendar, June 26-29 at the Western North Carolina Ag Center, Fletcher, NC.

Piedmont PFHA is holding a Futurity Colt Raffle.
The colt is Invasor de Legacy Q. His sire is Heredero de Jonseb, and his dam is Independencia Prestante. Drawing to be held on June 29, 2008 at the Piedmont Classic in Asheville, NC. $5.00 raffle donation.

Raffle chances can be purchased online at Piedmont's website by using PayPal. Rules and regulations, and more details for this raffle will be posted at the Asheville show offices and online at Piedmont's news page. (See photo also online).

Invasor de Legacy Q is eligible for for a free nomination at the PFHA Breeders Sweepstakes for 2008 Nationals. The prize money is exceptional this year with the final talley in the range of $36,000 to $40,000. This raffle colt has a chance at winning the big bucks!

2008 Piedmont Futurity nomination form is due June 11th
Any offspring from a nominated stallion is eligible to enter the Futurity Classes and, once nominated, each horse can show until its eligibility is finished. Futurity classes are shown at Asheville, along with regular show classes during the Saturday/Sunday show.

Remember, the deadline for mailing the 2008 nomination form is June 11th for horses to show in the current show year Futurity. Don’t miss this opportunity to win extra money at Asheville! The 2008 Piedmont PFHA online Membership Directory pages are updated. Be sure you have renewed your Piedmont dues for the new year if you wish to be included. Note: Piedmont dues are separate from PFHA annual dues. The membership renewal application is online for download as a PDF file. You have the option of opting out of the printed mailed Password, and also can purchase a live email and farm website link as an option in addition to your membership.

For the newest Piedmont e-news format, be sure to have your email program allow graphics/images and html to be turned on. The format is in the introductory phase, and can be adapted to members needs in the new 2008 membership year. The 2008 NC State Fair Show Flyer is now available online for download. Practice for the specialty classes planned ... the Trail Obstacle class will be held in the outside arena.
