Does anybody know who will be running for President and Vice President of the SRPFHA association in the next election? It is right around the corner.

Good question, but a hard one to answer. The problem is getting good people who are willing to dedicate themselves for the right reason (promotion of our breed). It takes time, and a big committment from a person. I find people want the position for the "title" and the "rights" it brings to them, but then when they realize the amount of work, they...well I could go on and on....

I wish I was in the position to do it this coming year. (It saddens me to see the situation we are in now where there is so much alienation.) But I would rather spend my time supporting the IPHF/ATTA at this point due to the lost of respect I have acquired for PFHA & our region here in Ocala. I also have seen less and less "family participation", A/O are dropping like flies. There are so many people that say they are very unhappy about the Region, but they are also at a lost on what to do to fix it right now. We do need someone who is willing to step up to the plate. A person who can relate to the membership, is personable, yet understands what it takes to work with a group of people to put on a show, being fiscally responsible, and to have events for fun as well as promotion.

There are MANY events (such as the one we did at the Livestock Pavillion for charity) that are available for SRPFHA to participate and promote in our area. If it had not been for us individual members and the support of the IPHF/ATTA this past year the Paso horses would not have been represented in the public!

I hope I have not offended anyone, but I am known for being very honest and open with my opinion.

Yes, I also thank the people who have worked so hard at all the shows this past year, believe me I understand how hard that is. BUT WE have to start working together as a TEAM (REMEMBER THERE IS NO "I" IN THE WORD TEAM) to put on great shows for the enjoyment of all. A good attitude toward the membership (remember you have to treat us like a customer because we are paying the bills) goes a long way. People feel better about the region and therefore WANT to help out and WANT to go to shows they have input in planning and preparing.

Good luck to the person who takes it on, it is going to be a task. Surprised

You have not offended me at all LORI! takes courage to say the truth!

I was very involved with the PFHA......until the fiasco that made me realize the truth of what PFHA really is! I will not support one second of my life after 36 years until the PFHA will be willing to follow rules and respect all members! and PROMOTE THIS BREED!

The PFHA is a FRAUD.............. i don't want any part of it.....................

Lets all praised the breeders that are also breeding half bred horses! WHAT A JOKE! that is the only reason why the PFHA is GONE! and by the way! let me put in the HALL OF FAME TOO! maybe one day soon we can have 5 legged horses too under the name of CADILLACS! jejeje! and a registry that will support CAMELS!

I was getting all excited thinking that we were going to elect a new President for our region this year.
I will be the first to admit that the way the show is being orginized and presented is better but the politics are worse. When you look at the President of the club and you are crossing paths he puts his chin up and look the other way thinking that he is better than you, he act like he is doing us favors by putting on a show when we are the ones who spend the money.
I also dont think that the President of the club should be competing in the class as it is conflict of interest.
Sometimes people gets into a political position to better serve themselves for personal gain.
I had issues in the past with this person and fear our score cards are marked before the show ever starts, therefore I will not participate in SRPFHA show until a new President is elected.
